#1002 Zinc Chromate Primer

COLOR(S): Light Yellow.

PRODUCT TYPE: Zinc Chromate Alkyd Rust-inhibiting Primer

DESCRIPTION: A high quality rust-inhibitive primer formulated to meet military specification TT-P-645A. It has been designed for use on metal surfaces where a durable, rust resisting type finish is required. This primer is used by steel fabricators as well as the marine industry. Years of service in the industrial field has demonstrated the dependable quality of this product.

Intended Use: For metal surfaces. Used by steel fabricators and the marine industry.

VISCOSITY: 70 k.u.

DRY TO TOUCH: 1/2-1 hour

WEIGHT SOLIDS: 67-71%

TACK FREE: 5-6 hours

VOLUME SOLIDS: 45-48%

TIME TO RECOAT: Overnight

WEIGHT PER GALLON: 11.80 lbs. per gal.

DRY HARD: 8 hours

V.O.C.: 422 grams per liter

COLOR RANGE: Light Yellow

FLASH POINT: 105° F.

PACKAGING: 1 or 5 gallon containers

BATCH: 25 gallons (minimum)

PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 250-350 square feet per gallon depending on film thickness and surface to be coated.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface to be coated must be free of all loose dirt or scaling paint and any other foreign material. All loose rust scales should be removed either by wire brushing or light sand blasting or with Farwest #695 Rynolite Chemical Cleaner-Etcher.

APPLICATION: Apply by airless, conventional spray, brush or roller. Note: When spraying with conventional cup gun, the viscosity of the material should be reduced within the range of 20"-25" on a Zahn Cup.

THINNING: Thin if necessary with Farwest #602 Mineral Spirits. Use at package viscosity for brushing and rolling. Product may be reduced with mineral spirits as needed for even free flowing when spraying.

CLEAN-UP: Equipment and tools may be cleaned with Farwest #602 Mineral Spirits.
