SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface to be coated must be thoroughly cleaned, sanded and primed. On Ferrous Substrates: All loose scale and rust should be removed before priming. A near white sandblast will provide the best surface for subsequent coatings. Aluminum: Must always be cleaned and etched before painting. Galvanized Steel: Should be thoroughly cleaned, etched, and primed with a zinc rich primer such as Farwest DOD-E-15328D Zinc Wash Primer.

APPLICATION: Apply by airless or conventional spray. It is possible to brush apply small areas by adding High-Flash Aromatic Solvent., but it is not recommended to brush apply larger areas. Primers should be lacquer proof type such as Farwest X-4985 White Lacquer Proof Primer or X-4959 Red Lacquer Proof Primer.

THINNING: Thin if necessary with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner. No thinning should be required for airless application. For conventional spray, a reduction of approximately 15-20% may be necessary for proper atomization and flow. Normally, a viscosity of 22" to 27" on a #2 Zahn Cup will produce the best results.

CLEAN-UP: Tools and equipment may be cleaned with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner, Farwest #615 Wash Thinner, or Farwest #610 Lacquer Thinner.
