#5085 Latex Acrylic Primer (Exterior)

PRODUCT TYPE: Pigmented Modified Acrylic.

DESCRIPTION: A top quality acrylic primer for use on exterior wood and masonry surfaces. It adheres well to wood and masonry. This product’s fast dry time and resistance to blocking features make it ideal as a production line primer for prefinishing exterior doors, jambs and mouldings. Its cured film breaths allowing moisture to escape from beneath the surface reducing the chance for peeling, cracking or flaking.

Intended Use: On exterior wood and masonry surfaces. Also as a production line primer for prefinishing exterior millwork.

DRY TO TOUCH: 1 hour

WEIGHT SOLIDS: 50-54%

TACK FREE: 2 hours

VOLUME SOLIDS: 32-34%

TIME TO RECOAT: 2-4 hours

DRY HARD: 8 hours

PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 200-400 square feet per gallon depending on the porosity of the surface to be coated. 

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be dry, clean and free of all foreign agents and properly prepared. All cracks, holes, and surface imperfections should be filled with spackling compound. When filling holes and cracks on the exterior of a building, use a good quality exterior spackling compound.

APPLICATION: Apply by brush, roller or spray. A good quality nylon bristle brush will provide the best results.

THINNING: Thinning is not recommended.

CLEAN-UP: Clean all tools and equipment with normal tap water as soon as is possible. Due to this product’s higher solids and viscosity it will dry on tools and equipment quickly. Warm, soapy water provides the best results.
