X-6382 Fast-Dry Zinc Chromate Primer

PRODUCT TYPE: Zinc Chromate Phenolic Modified Alkyd Rust-Inhibitive Primer

DESCRIPTION: A very fast-drying rust-inhibitive primer designed for spray application. This product is yellow zinc rich and contains a balanced composition of special pigments and phenolic modified resin providing good rust inhibitive properties and blister resistance for better adhesion and metal protection.

Intended Use: For aluminum aircraft, airborne equipment, or iron or steel surfaces.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

VISCOSITY: 70-80 k.u.

DRY TO TOUCH: 15-30 minutes

WEIGHT SOLIDS: 57-60%

TACK FREE: 1 hour

VOLUME SOLIDS: 37-40%

TIME TO RECOAT: 1 hour

WEIGHT PER GALLON: 10.5 lbs. per gal.

DRY HARD: 2 hours

V.O.C.: 510 grams per liter

COLOR RANGE: Yellow

FLASH POINT: 50° F.

PACKAGING: 1 or 5 gallon containers

BATCH: 100 gallons (minimum)

PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 300-350 square feet per gallon @ approximately 2.0 mils dry film thickness.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Prior to application the surface to be primed should be clean and free of loose scale, dirt and oily residues. Remove loose rust and scale with Farwest #695 Rynolite Chemical Cleaner-Etcher.

APPLICATION: This product is at a spray viscosity designed for airless use: It should be allowed to dry a minimum of 1/2 hour before recoating with subsequent primers or topcoats.

THINNING: Thin if necessary with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner or Farwest #610 Lacquer Thinner.

CLEAN-UP: Tools and equipment may be cleaned with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner or Farwest #610 Lacquer Thinner.
