Varnish Coatings

#677 Polyurethane Semi-Gloss Varnish (Interior)

COLOR(S): Clear Semi-Gloss.

PRODUCT TYPE: Oil Modified Polyurethane Clear.

DESCRIPTION: An oil-modified polyurethane clear coating which, when applied properly, will have a deep, rich appearance with good gloss and hold out. This material is recommended for use on fine furniture finishing, wall paneling, trim, and a coating for wood doors, and as a finish for stained and sealed cedar. In addition to this product’s excellent hold-out, it has good abrasion resistance and stain resistance to provide long lasting beauty. This material also serves as a finish for wood trim on boats and the interior of wood doors. For longer lasting of the finish it is best that the surface be treated with a stain containing iron oxide pigments, as these will help protect from UV (ultra violet rays) attack by the sun.

Intended Use: Finish coating for fine furniture finishing, wall paneling, trim, interior doors, stained and sealed cedar, or wood trim on boats.

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces to be coated must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, waxes and oil residues. When the surface has been stained with an oil wiping stain, best results are experienced if the sealer and finish are applied only after the stain is thoroughly dry. In most cases, an overnight dry is suitable.

APPLICATION: Always seal new surfaces with Farwest #675 Gloss Polyurethane before applying Farwest #678 Polyurethane Satin Varnish. Failure to do so will result in white frosting in finish and wood grains. Apply two or more coats, flowing finish on to avoid bubbles, sags and runs. Allow the maximum of time for each coat to harden before over-coating. Surface may be lightly sanded between coats.

THINNING: Thin if necessary with Farwest #602 Mineral Spirits.

CLEAN-UP: Tools and equipment may be cleaned with Farwest #602 Mineral Spirits or Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner.
